Today 2^nd October 2018, started the final meeting of the European Project TechSenior in Patras Greece. The Project lasted 2 years and aimed at bridging the gap between the seniors and technology. It has enabled older people to become familiar with technology and the internet use.

Meeting in Brussels.

The TechSenior meeting was held in Brussels on January 17th 2018. The progress made so far, but also the benefits of the use of technology in everyday life by elders were presented. At the same time, issues such as the importance of life long learning and web tools, for achieving better standards of living and the independence of the elderly, were discussed .

All project partners, SOSU Ostjylland and Aarhus Kommune from Denmark,  CDEA Cebanc and Errotu from Spain, AGE UK from UK, Koispe Faros and p-consulting from Greece and the organization EfVET (European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training), are to develop the learning material to be uploaded to the on-line platfrom. This training material is to be based on useful feedback taken in previous meetings.

The consortium concluded that the training platform will be set up by Easter.

From 11 to 16 of June 2017 it is planned to be held the Joint Staff Training Event in San Sebastian, Spain.

The project team is going

• to develop the course curriculum, which is planned to be suitable for the familiarization with IT of the elders,
• to use co-creation methods as a development tool in the course design and
• to ensure the full understanding amongst workshop participants of the project’s aims and objectives.

The main objective of the Joint Staff Training Event is to use innovative methods for the development of the course curriculum. For that reason, a great number of local organisations, with high experience and specialization will be involved.

The 2nd Meeting of Techsenior project took place in Bristol at 7 and 8 of March 2017. The project partners discussed about the activities that were implemented through the previous period, some problems that come out during the implementation, the activities and the deadlines that follows. Furthermore, each partner presented the progress of the project’s implementation in each country.

The meeting was held in Aarhus from the 9th to the 10th of November.

The main subject of the meeting was to define the route of the project and to coordinate the actions between the EU partners. The meeting was successful and it delivered the certainty of a productive implementation of the project.
