Elderly and Technology
It has been observed that in recent years, where technology is developing rapidly, older people feel “technologically illiterate” as they cannot follow developments. For this reason, great technology giants, like Apple, are turning and trying to adapt their technologies to all age groups.
Anyone who has tried to teach to his grandmother or grandfather how to shop electronically or pay their bills via web banking knows that there is a significant percentage of scepticism and hesitation in using the new technology by the majority of older people.
Learning to use new technologies by older people is a winning bet as it will make a significant contribution to improving their everyday lives. To achieve this goal, the TECHSENIOR project partners are developing an e-learning training program through which people aged over 55 can, without cost, be trained in the use of new technologies.
The pilot implementation of the educational program in Greece is expected to take place in the spring of 2018.
